The Lancet chronic diseases series 3: Chronic diseases and development was launched in London on 10 November 2010. The series aims to support the UN High Level Meeting of the General Assembly on chronic non-communicable diseases which will be held in September 2011.
The event included presentations and perspectives from a broad range of leading experts and organisations in global health including WHO, The World Bank, The Global Fund and Bloomberg Philanthropies. It was attended by 130 high level policy participants from the developing and developed world. It was organised by the National Heart Forum in conjunction with The Lancet, Department of Health, England and The Commonwealth Secretariat.
